Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (abbreviated as CISCE) conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and the Indian School Certificate examinations for Class X and Class XII respectively.    In 1952, an All India Certificate Examinations Conference was held under the Chairmanship of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Minister for Education. The main purpose of the Conference was to consider the replacement of the overseas Cambridge School Certificate Examination by an All India Examination. In October 1956 at the meeting of the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education, a proposal was adopted for the setting up of an Indian Council to administer the University of Cambridge, Local Examinations Syndicate’s Examination in India and, to advise the Syndicate on the best way to adapt its examination to the needs of the country. The inaugural meeting of the Council was held on 3rd November, 1958.  In December 1967, the Council was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.   In 1973, the Council was listed in the Delhi School Education Act 1973, as a body conducting “public” examinations.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations conducts three examinations, namely, the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE –Class X); The Indian School Certificate (ISC – ClassXII) and the Certificate in Vocational Education (CVE – Year 12). The subject choices and syllabuses prescribed for these examinations are varied and aimed at nurturing the unique gifts of individual pupils


    The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education has been designed to provide an examination in a course of general education, in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, through the medium of English. Private candidates are not permitted to appear for this examination.


    The Indian School Certificate Examination is an examination, through the medium of English, designed in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, after a two-year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year 10) examination or its equivalent examination.

  • THE C.V.E (YEAR 12)

    The Certificate of Vocational Education Examination (CVE – 12) has been created as an examination, in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through the Joint Council of Vocational Education (JCVE) established under the National Policy of Education 1986. This examination can be taken by candidates after a two year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year 10) examination or its equivalent examination, through the medium of English.

    The C.V.E. course is intended to prepare candidates for specific vocations. Private candidates are not permitted to appear for these examinations.



The Council conducts, the Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate and the Albert Barrow Memorial All-India Inter-School Creative Writing competitions, thereby underpinning the critical importance of creativity and the ability to articulate one’s thoughts in writing and speech in school education.

CBSE Date sheet 2017 for Board Exam Dates for class-10 and 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education (abbreviated as CBSE) is a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Union Government of India. It was established 1929. Ever year CBSE conducts Board examination for the students of class 10th and 12th all over India in the month of March.  For the session 2016-17 also the Board has announced to conduct the examination and the Date Sheet will be officially upload in the main site of CBSE Portal in the last week of January 2017. Jee Mains 2016 OMR Sheet 3 april Morning / Evening Shift 2016 1 & 2 Paper Solved Keys

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) every year conducts the  Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). The  Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common engineering entrance examination of objective pattern which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. It is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging engineering admission tests. JEE consists of two parts, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. JEE-Advanced is for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and Indian School of Mines Dhanbad, an institute that will be converted to IIT, while the JEE-Main exam is for admission to Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs) as well as for admission to the dual degree programme of IIEST Shibpur.  Only the students selected in JEE Mains are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced. Over 150,000 students are selected each year.

Recently on 3rd April 2016 CBSE has conducted the 4th Joint Engineering Entrance Examination [JEE (Main)] at various examination centres across the country.  The paper was conducted  on Offline basis which consists of Paper 1 (B. E./B. Tech.) & Paper 2 (B. Arch./ B. e) Initial Medical Examination : The selected candidates will have to undergo medical examination by the Company’s Authorized Medical Board and the final appointment / joining will be subject to declaration of Medically Fit by the Company’s Medical Board only.

Exam Pattern : Scheme of Exam for MES Various Posts Written Test is as Follows :-

  •  The written examination will consist of one objective type paper.
  •  The question paper will contain 130 marks.

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning : It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal analysis figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal will abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, etc.
  • Numerical Aptitude : Questions will cover number system including questions on simplification, decimals, fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit and Loss, Discount, Simple and Compound Interest, Measurement, Time and Work, Ratio and Time, Time and Distance, Tables and Graphs, etc.
  • General English : Testing of candidates on understanding of the English Language and its correct usage, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage. Questions on Paragraph Writing / Report Writing / Letter writing etc may be included.
  • General Awareness : Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of and educated persons.


Candidates will have to go through written examination. Question will be divided in four parts:

  • General Intelligence (25 marks)
  • Numerical Aptitude (25 marks)
