ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Education Qualification:

  • Interested candidates must have cleared at least 10th/ Matriculation or 12th/HSC examination with English as a compulsory subject from a Govt approved state/ central educational board.
  • Intrigued individuals if applying for the higher level job in Post Office also required to have completed Diploma/ Graduation/ Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent for relevant discipline from any recognized University/Institute.
  • The candidates should have knowledge of local languages of the State.
  • Candidates who have passed Vocational or job Oriented Course (JOC) are NOT eligible.
  • Desirable qualification :- Typing Knowledge and Computer Knowledge.

RECRUITMENT METHOD

 

Recruitment in Indian Postal Services are carried out through written examination and interview. Officers post are recruited through the civil service examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) which requires a bachelor’s degree.

The selection process is as follows

a) The total aggregate marks for selection will be 100; consisting of 40% weightage of percentage of marks secured in 10+2 or 12th Class, 50% weightage of marks secured in aptitude test and 10 marks for computer test (including typing skill on computer)

b) A merit list of the candidates will be prepared on the basis of marks in the aggregate secured by them in 10+2 or 12th Class Examination of recognized University or Board of School Education or Board of Secondary Education (excluding vocational streams). This merit list is on the basis of 40% of the percentage of marks secured by the candidate in 10+2 or 12th Class Examination. For example if a candidate has secured 70% of marks in 10+2 or 12th Class Examination, he would be awarded 40% of 70 i.e., 28 marks for the purpose of preparing merit list.

c) Out of this merit list, candidates equal to 10 times of vacancies (for each community separately as per the vacancies reserved for each community) will be called for to appear for the Aptitude test / written test. The candidates selected will be addressed to appear for the Aptitude Test.

d) The Aptitude Test will contain 50 objective type questions of 2 marks each and will include questions on English, Mathematics, General Knowledge and Reasoning and Analytical ability. The duration of the test will be 60 minutes. 50% of the marks secured in aptitude test will be given weightage for the final assessment.

e) The computer test consists of data entry knowledge and typing knowledge on computer. The test will consist of one passage in English or Hindi to be typed to test the typing knowledge (The Passage for type test will consist of 450 words in English or 375 words in Hindi to be typed at the minimum speed of 30 w.p.m) and data consisting of figures and letters to test the knowledge of data entry. The test shall be for 30 minutes – 15 minutes for each part i.e., Typing knowledge and data entry and each part shall be given 5 marks each. Marks shall be given at 0 or 5 based on whether the candidate achieves minimum standard or not. There will not be graded marks. The weightage for computer test will be 10 marks.

f) The marks secured in computer test will be added to the marks already secured in the components referred to a) and b) above and final merit list will be prepared. The final selection will be made on the basis of this final merit list.

g) Attendance in Aptitude Test and Computer Test (including typing skill) is mandatory for selection. Those who fail to appear for these tests will not be selected.

REMUNERATION

The salary structure in postal service, depends on the individual’s hierarchy. One can start their career in postal service as a trainer/ probationer officer. Then can move on to junior time scale, senior time scale, junior administrative grade, senior administrative grade, higher administrative grade, principal chief postmaster general, member postal service board and then secretary to government of India (ex-cadre post).

The Departmental officers and employees receive Basic Pay + Dearness Allowance as admissible from time to time + Non-Practising Allowance (wherever admissible) + Transport Allowance + House Rent Allowance (if admissible) + Special Allowance attached to the post (wherever applicable) + Special Disturbed Area Allowance (where admissible).

(iii)  Tattoos : Only those Tattoos are permitted depicting religious symbol or figure and the name on traditional sites of the body like inner side of left forearm only or dorsum of the hands & must be less than ¼ of the particular part (elbow or hand)

Selection Process  :

(i)  The Original documents of the candidates called for Physical Standard Test will be checked by the recruitment board.

(ii)   Candidates who have qualified in documentation shall be allowed to appear in Physical Standard Test. Physical Standard Test will be carried out by the Recruitment Board to assess their Height, Chest and Weight according to the prescribed physical standard. Candidates who fail to qualify the PST shall be eliminated.

(iv) Biometric Identification  :  Those who qualify Physical Efficiency Test are required to undergo biometric identification.

(vii) Merit List : Merit lists in each category namely, Gen, SC, ST and OBC(NCL) will be drawn on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and Interview. Candidates shall be shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination (DME) as per the category wise vacancies on the basis of this merit.

Selection Process :

Selection process of the constables in ITBPF consists of :

  • Height Bar Test
    The candidates will be put through the Height Bar test and qualified candidates will be sent for 5 Km race.
  • Race (PET)
    After height bar test, the candidates will be subjected to 5 kilometers race to be completed within 24 minutes.
  • Physical Standard Test (PST)
    Candidates, who are qualified in race, will be screened first for height, chest and weight measurements.
  • Documentation
    The candidates who qualify in the Physical standard Test will be required to produce all relevant documents, in original only
  • Biometric verification
    Finger impression in respect of registered candidates will be captured immediately and will be verified on subsequent recruitment tests to avoid impersonation
  • Written Test (100 Marks)
    (i) The candidates who qualify the Documentation stage will be required to appear in a written test.
    (ii) NON-OMR based multiple choice question paper will be set (Bilinguali.e. in Hindi, English) to assess the general awareness/General Knowledge, Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics, analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to test basic knowledge of candidate in English/ Hindi. The question paper will carry 100 objective types multiple choice questions and would carry 100 marks.

The Senior Administrative Officer is Group-A Gazetted (Ministerial) post in ITBP with Pay Band-3 Rs. 15,600-39,100/- with Grade Pay Rs. 6600/- and other allowances admissible to Central Government employees on deputation basis.

Exam Pattern :

The Written Test conducted by the  Ordnance Factory consists of Objective Type Questions from various Subjects.

  • The paper would be bilingual, i.e, it would be printed in Hindi as well as in English.
  • The paper would require to be answered in OMR sheets.
  • Candidates would be required to darken the circles in the OMR sheet with black pen.OMR sheets marked in pencil would be rejected out right.
  • The Written Exam for Workman Consists of One Paper and Two Parts Part A & Part B.
  • The Written Exam consists of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions for 100 Marks.
  • The Part A will have the Weightage of 20 Marks and Part B will have the Weightage of 80 Marks.

(b) Quantitative Aptitude (10 Questions) – The candidate will be tested for general mathematics of upto 10th Standard involving number systems, equations in two variables, simple and compound interest, perimeter, area and volume of geometrical figures, Direct and inverse proportions, Pythagoras theorem and trigonometry.

(c) NCVT Trade (80 Questions)  –Questions from the NCVT Syllabus of relevant trade.

(d) There will be no interview for filling up of these vacancies.

(e) Trade test : The syllabus for trade test (Practical) will as per Trade Test Specification of the Semi Skilled grade of the relevant trade. Viva-voce, if any, considered necessary to test the skill of the candidate being considered for recruitment, will essentially form part of Trade Test.

General Instructions  :

List of document Required :

Check the List of Documents required for Delhi Police Home Guards Bharti 2016.  The candidate original documents (with one copy of self-attested) shall be checked at the time of Physical Test.

  1. Date of birth Certificate (10th Board CBSE School) or any other.
  2. Education Certificate (from recognized board).
  3. Resident Proof any of these (Adhaar Card/ Rasan Card/ Driving License, Passport, Bank Pass Book with Photo attested, Voted ID card etc).
  4. Bonus Marks: If you are eligible to get Bonus marks. Please bring the original certificate with above documents.
