Harayna Public Service Commission (HPSC) came into existence on 1st November, 1966. HPSC was set up with the main aim of recruiting candidates to various services in the Indian state of Haryana. The commission is under the provisions of Punjab Re-Organization Act, 1966. Haryana Public Service Commission work under the state government of Haryana. The main purpose of HPSC’s is to conduct competitive exams for Haryana Civil Services, Haryana Gazette Probationers, Haryana Public Works Engineering Department Services, Haryana Education Department Services etc. and to recruit eligible candidates for various available posts in Government Organizations on the basis of initial exam, main exam and personal interviews for some exams, screening test and interview is sufficient for some exams, only interview for some exams, written examination and interview for some exams.  Most of the selections will be done on the performance in the preliminary examination and mains exam, then qualified candidates are allowed to take interview. Haryana Public Service Commission has setup some eligibility standards to choose the appropriate candidates. As necessity of the post the eligibility standards and age limit will differ and Age reduction is applicable to all reserved category applicants and for particularly categorized candidates.

Haryana Public Service Commission has setup some eligibility standards to choose the appropriate candidates. As necessity of the post the eligibility standards may varies.

Assistant, District Programmer Officer and Deputy Director :  Graduate/Post Graduate from a Recognized University and Must hold a Degree of Engineering from a Recognized University.

Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) and Mechanical class – II :  Degree in Civil/ Mechanical Engineering from a Recognized University.

Assistant District Attorney in Prosecution Department :

(i) Degree of Bachelor of Laws (Professional) of a recognized University.

(ii) Should have enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council.

(iii) Hindi/Sanskrit upto Matric standard or higher.

Veterinary Surgeon (HVS-II) in Animal Husbandry & Dairying Department :

(i) Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry from a recognized University or Institute.

(ii) Adequate knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit.

(iii) Registered as Veterinary Practitioner with Haryana Veterinary Council or with any Veterinary Council in India or Indian Veterinary Council as required by Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984.

HCS (Ex. Br.) & other Allied Services :  Candidates must possess Degree of a recognized University of Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce or an equivalent degree of a recognized University.

Civil Judge (Junior Division) in the Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch) :   Degree of Bachelor of Laws from a University established by the law and approved/recognized by the Bar Council of India.

AGE :– 

Candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 42 years.


Civil Judge (Junior Division) in the Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch) :  The pay scale for the post is ` 27700-770-33090-920-40450-1080-44770 or such as may be revised by the Govt. from time to time.

HCS (Ex. Br.) & other Allied Services :  

(i)  15600-39100 + GP 5400/

(ii)  9300-34800 + GP 5400/

Veterinary Surgeon (HVS-II) in Animal Husbandry & Dairying Department :

Rs. 9300 – 34800/- Per Month

Assistant, District Programmer Officer and Deputy Director :

Rs. 9300 – 34800/- Per Month

Candidates can download their respective admit cards by logging on to  hcs.hpsconline.in/admitlogin.aspx .  The admit card is available 15-20 days before the commencement of exam.  The candidates have to fill their registration number and date of birth correctly. 


Candidates can check the Latest results of Preliminary and Main Examination in the official site.  The Result can also be downloaded by entering the correct Roll Number.


Numerous number of Candidates who apply for the Recruitment’s released by Haryana Public Service Commission download their admit cards and sit in the exam conducted by the authority.  The exam is conducted in two stages (i) Preliminary Examination (ii) Main Examination.  Candidates who qualify Preliminary exam will be eligible for the main exam.  Candidates should note that if at any stage after issue of the HPSC  main exam admit card  they are found to be ineligible for admission to the examination in terms of advertisement for the examination, their candidature will be cancelled without further reference to them.
Exam Pattern for HPSC

 Preliminary examination  :  There will be two examinations take place. The First paper will held for General Studies and Reasoning with Numerical Ability (Low Level). This Examination will carry 100 marks and time duration for examination will be 2 hours. After this main examination will take place.

Main Examination :  There will be Four examination will take place. Paper I : General English ( 100 marks )  Paper II : General Hindi (100 marks ) Paper III : General Studies (100 marks ) Paper IV : Two Optional Subject ( 300 marks ) After this Interview will take place. It will be nearly equal to 75 marks (Nearly 12% of Written Examination).


After the completion of written exam Answer key is released within 3-4 days by the officials in the main site of HPSC.  With the help of Answer key Candidates can match their answers and predict their score.


Cutoff of HPSC exam will be evaluated on many factors some of factors are mentioned Below:

  1. Number of Candidate appeared for the HPSC exam
  2. No of candidates passed the exam
  3. Difficulty level of question paper
  4. No. Of vacancy for this exam
  5. Cutoff may also be sectional wise


The Merit List is prepared on the basis of evaluation of Candidates’ marks obtained in Preliminary and Main Examination.  If candidates qualifies both the stages the department prepares a merit list of these candidates and they will be called for the Interview.


The score card or Final Result is prepared on the basis of candidates’ performance in Main Examination and Interview.  The candidates who qualifies Main exam and interview both is selected by the Officials for HPSC Jobs.  The result is shown roll number and category wise.  Candidates can check their Roll numbers by visiting the official site of HPSC.
