IOB has branches in Singapore, Hong Kong, Colombo, Seoul, and Bangkok. It has representative offices in Guangzhou, Vietnam, and Dubai. IOB also is part-owner of a joint-venture bank in Malaysia.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA & REMUNERATION :

Probationary Officer 

  1. Graduation from a recognised university with minimum 60% Marks.(For Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PC category minimum 55% Marks)
  2. Computer literacy shall be an essential qualification, which the candidate must either possess before or acquire within six months of joining the Bank.
  3. Diploma in Banking & Finance (DBF) from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) is a desirable qualification besides the above entry level qualification.

Age – 21 years to 30 years.

Pay Scale – Rs.14500 – 600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700 plus DA, HRA, CCA as per rules in force from time to time.

Clerk 

Candidates should possess Graduation under 10+2+3/4 regular course with 60% and above.

Age – Candidates age should not be more than 25 years.

Pay Scale –  Rs 7,200 to Rs 19,300 plus DA, HRA, etc. will be paid as per Bank’s rules in force from time to time depending upon the place of posting.

Senior Manager – Credit Officer

Candidates must possess Full Time M.B.A/ PG Diploma in Management with Specialization in Finance & CAIIB/ Diploma in Banking and Finance by IIBF & should have relevant experience.

Age – Candidates age limit should be minimum 26 years & maximum 35 years

Economist 

  • The candidate should have completed postgraduation in Economics with specialisation in monetary/financial economics or econometrics from a recognised Indian/foreign university/institute. Those candidates with doctoral degree in areas of money/banking/international finance will be given preference.
  • Experience: Candidate should have minimum three years of experience as an Economist in a commercial bank/financial institution or teaching experience as a lecturer in economics.

Age –  The age of the candidate should be below 40 years.

Pay Scale – Rs 60,000 per month

Chief Economist 

  • The candidate should have completed postgraduation in Economics with specialisation in monetary/financial economics or econometrics from a recognised Indian/foreign university/institute. Those candidates with doctoral degree in areas of money/banking/international finance will be given preference.
  • Experience: Candidate should have a minimum 10 years of experience as an Economist in a commercial bank/financial institution or teaching experience as a lecturer in economics.

Age – The age of the candidate should be between 45 and 62 years.

Pay Scale – Rs 75,000 per month

Chartered Accountant

  • Candidates should have completed final examination for Chartered Accountants. Candidates who have passed ACS and/or ICWA will be given preference
  • Experience: Candidate should have retired at a rank not below the rank of Assistant General Manager with minimum 10-12 years of hands-on-experience in a public sector bank.

Age – The age of the candidate should be below 62 years.

Pay Scale –  Rs 60,000 per month

Chief Customer Service Officer

  • Candidates should have retired as a general manager from a public sector bank.
  • Experience: Candidate should have minimum of 10 years of experience in the operational front.

Age – The age of the candidate should be below 60 years.

Pay Scale –  Rs 60,000 per month

Inquiry Officer 

1. Graduation / Post Graduation Degree

2. Candidates with Diploma in Personnel Management/ Industrial Relations, Labour Studies, Labour Administrative Law, Degree in Law will be preferred.

3. He/She should have worked in the capacity of not less than Senior Management Grade Scale IV prior to retirement in any Public Sector Bank. AND He/She should have a minimum period of 3 years field experience in the line of Vigilance and Non -Vigilance Departmental Inquiries.

Pay- A lump sum remuneration of Rs.15000/- for completion of one Departmental Inquiry (Per Charge Sheet) and if the number exceeds more than one charge sheet in a single file then for each additional charge sheet, a fixed sum of Rs.7,500/- will be paid subject to a maximum of Rs.75000/- per file

SELECTION PROCESS :

Probationary Officer – The selection process will include written examination and interview.

A.  Written Examination –  The Written Examination will comprise of Objective Test and Descriptive Test details of which is furnished here under :

i) Objective Test –

  • Objective Test consisting of Test of Reasoning , Test of English Language, Test of Quantitative Aptitude, Test of General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry, Test of Computer Knowledge (250 Questions carrying total weightage of 225 with total time duration of 150 minutes).
  • There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the objective tests which will result in negative marks for every wrong answer @ one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question. If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer.

ii) Descriptive Test –

  • Descriptive paper on English Composition will comprise 3 compulsory questions (Essay, précis writing, letter writing etc,).
  • The Descriptive Test carries total marks of 50 and weightage for the same will be 25.
  • Time duration -One hour.

B. Interview –   The Interview will carry 50 Marks. Minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be 22.50 marks for General Category and 20.00 marks for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged Candidates. Final selection will be made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination & Interview and will be strictly according to the merit ranking.

Clerical Post – 

A. INTERVIEW:  Mere eligibility/pass in the stipulated CWE conducted by IBPS for Clerical Cadre posts, shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for Interview. Depending upon the number of vacancies (State/Union territory- wise), only those candidates who have been issued a valid score card in the Common Written Examination (CWE) for Clerical cadre posts conducted by IBPS and who rank sufficiently high in the order of merit based on the Total Weighted Standard Score (TWSS) as per the cut-off marks (State/Union territory- wise) decided by the Bank will be called for the Interview.

The Interview will carry 50 Marks. Minimum qualifying marks in the Interview will be 22.50 marks for General Category and 20.00 marks for SC/ST/OBC/PC/EXSM Candidates.

Final selection will be made State/Union territory – wise, on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the Common Written Examination (CWE) for Clerical cadre posts conducted by IBPS & Interview and will be strictly according to the merit ranking.

The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PC/EXSM will be given relaxation in marks as per extant Government Guidelines. The Bank reserves the right to change the selection procedure, if necessary.

Other posts – 

After scrutiny of the applications received, only eligible candidates will be called for Personal Interview. The short-listing and call for interview will be on the basis of the details provided by the candidates in the “Application Form” & documents forwarded along with the “Application Form”. The Bank would be free to reject the candidature of any candidate at any stage of the empanelment process, if he / she is found to be ineligible and / or furnished incorrect or false information / certificates / documents or has suppressed any material facts.
