The Urban Co-operative Bank Limited, Cuttack  started functioning on 14th September, 1981 with its Head Office at Tinikonia Bagicha, Buxi Bazar, Cuttack-753001 after being registered under Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Orissa, Bhubaneswar.  This Bank initially started with share capital of Rs.2,33,OOO.OO collected from 772 Members and has been adorning the status of the largest urban cooperative bank of the state as well as of the eastern region for decades . Since inception, it. has been functioning with an aim for providing financial assistance to the urban poor for their upliftment through its micro finance activities. It has expanded its business through its sixteen branches and two extension counters spread over urban areas of undivided Cuttack district except Kendrapada and Paradeep. It has also proposed to seek the permission for expanding its area of operation to all the urban areas of the state before the registering as well as licensing authorities.

Branch Managers

Qualification : Must possess comprehensive knowledge of Consumer Banking products (CASA, FD, Insurance, Investments) and also have an in – depth exposure to Banking Operational Processes.

Desired Qualification – MBA (with specialization in Finance /Marketing)

Age :  Not more than 35 years of age

Experience :   6 – 9 yrs in the Banking industry.

Junior Officer 

Qualification :  Graduates from Recognized University with minimum experience of four years in Banking in Clerical Cadre and preferably with JAIIB/CAIIB qualification.

Age  :   Not below 21 years and not above 35 years.

Officers in MMG

Qualification  :   Graduates from Recognized University with 15 years of experience for Officers in MMG post in the Legal Department of a Bank / Financial Institution.

Age  : Age limit should not exceed to 40 years.

Relationship Manager

Minimum Qualification : Graduation in any stream from a recognized University.

Age : not more then 30 yrs of age

Experience :  3 – 5 yrs

Bank Clerk  

Qualification  :  Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.

Age  :  Not below 21 years and not above 30 years

Probationary Officers(PO)

Qualification  :  Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Age  :  Not below 21 years and not above 30 years.


Assistant Manager  :   6,27,042 per annum

 Probationary Officer  :  5,31,162 per annum 

Bank Manager  :  8,35,086 per annum

 Clerk  :    Rs.7,200-19,300/-pm


 Clerks & Officers  : The selection will be through the following process mentioned below –

  • Online aptitude test
  •  Group discussion
  • Interview

Aptitude Test : The Aptitude test will be be of 2 hrs and will be administered online. The test will assess the proficiency of candidates in the areas of :
1. Logic and Reasoning Skills
2. English Language Skills
3. Quantitative/ Numerical ability
4. Personal Assessment

Group Discussion & Personal Interview :
Based on case studies, the group discussions are mainly conducted to judge applicants on their analytical thinking, approach to hypothetical building around business situations and the ability to break down complex problems to arrive at simple solutions.  All applicants are expected to go through the interview round, which is the final step in the selection process.

Note  :  Only the short-listed candidates will be called for aptitude test/ group discussion/ interview. Short-listing will be done by taking into consideration the various attributes like qualifications/ additional qualifications, experience etc.

Note :  Candidates have an option to give exam in the following languages that is Hindi and English.  There is also negative marking of 0.25 marks as punishment on every incorrect answer means on each four incorrect answer a mark will be deducted from the sum of scoring marks.

Candidates can take the help of exam pattern for their preparation.  Nowadays many coaching centres are providing Bank Coachings.  Candidates can join these Coaching centres for their preparation for bank exams.  It is advisable to do the basics first. These can be done from class 10 books. After this, start doing section tests, from Reasoning, Maths, English, etc. Try to get a good score in each section. After that, do some full-length tests which contain all the sections, within the stipulated time. Candidates are also advised to prepare for the interview simultaneously and take care to develop their personality and confidence. After the written examination, the short-listed candidates are called for an interview. Application in own handwriting with complete bio data along with photocopies of relevant academic & experience certificates and two recent passport size photographs (one of them  self signed & affixed) should reach the bank Head Office (whichever is mentioned will be in the notification)


(i)  Valid proof of identity such as PAN card/Passport/Voter ID Card/Driving License/Permanent Identity Card issued by the present employer or any other valid proof of identification with a photograph should be produced at the time of aptitude test/ Group Discussion/ interview to be conducted by the Bank.

(ii)  Candidates have to produce all the requisite certificates/documents in original with Xerox copies in proof of their eligibility for verification at the time of Group Discussion/Interview. Failure to do so shall lead to disqualification of the candidate.

(iii) Selected candidates are liable to be transferred anywhere in India or abroad as per the administrative requirements & discretion of the Bank.
